HKCT (HKCT Institute of Higher Education and Hong Kong College of Technology) held the fourth session of the 2025 "i-Opening Classes" today (March 5, 2025) at HKCT Jockey Club Undergraduate Campus Auditorium. The event was honored to have Mr. Clement WOO, Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, as the keynote speaker, sharing insights on "Global Affairs, National Affairs, and Hong Kong Affairs" with approximately 200 students and faculty members in attendance.

Under Secretary WOO introduced the scope of work of the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau, highlighting the relevance of global current affairs to individuals and advising young people on how to equip themselves to align with the country's development. He emphasized Hong Kong's unique advantages and strategic position, advocating for synergy with other cities in the Greater Bay Area. He stressed the importance of fully leveraging Hong Kong’s dual role as a "super connector" and a "super value-adder" to help establish the Greater Bay Area as the world's leading bay area.

During the Q&A session, HKCT students actively engaged by raising questions on topics such as effective promotion of the Constitution and the Basic Law, as well as the government's specific measures to position Hong Kong as an international financial and innovation technology hub. Under Secretary WOO patiently addressed each question and encouraged students to have confidence in Hong Kong’s future. He urged them to seize the opportunities of the times, embrace the spirit of perseverance and hard work, and contribute to building not only a Chinese Hong Kong but also a global Hong Kong.
