Entrance Scholarship
Government Financial Assistance and Subsidy
HKCT provides entrance scholarships to the new students with remarkable academic achievements so as to encourage them to keep up with their satisfactory performance. New students can apply for the following scholarship(s) according to the programme level.
Entrance Scholarship

Objective
To offer scholarship to students with outstanding academic achievements

Amount
A maximum full-tuition fee waiver for the first year of study after the deduction of SFO subsidy and NMTSS
Remark: Tuition fee for module retake is not included

Main Targets & Requirements
Local and Non-local Students:

  • Good performance in the admission interview; and
  • Meet the specified criteria; and
  • Being accepted to enrol in HKCT designated programmes
Remarks
  • Applicants are allowed to apply for ONE Entrance Scholarship only
  • Applicants will be considered only if all the criteria and requirements in the ‘Details’ are fulfilled.
  • Applicants are allowed to apply for either ‘Entrance Scholarship’ or ‘HKCT Excellence Award’.
  • Assessment of the applicants’ eligibility and the granting of Scholarships are subject to the final decision of the Institute’s Selection Panel. Applicants’ objection to the final result will not be accepted

Objective
To offer scholarship to students with outstanding academic achievements

Amount

Amount

  • Athletes who have represented Hong Kong and/or achieved outstanding results in international games; and
  • Good performance in the admission interview; and
  • Being accepted to enrol in HKCT designated programmes

Objective

To offer scholarship to students with best talent

Amount
$5,000 - $15,000

Main Targets & Requirements
Local and Non-local Students:

  • Good performance in the admission interview; and
  • Meet the specified criteria; and
  • Being accepted to enrol in HKCT designated programmes

 (For 'Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Inclusive Education)’ only

Objective
To offer scholarship to students with excellent performance in community services and/or extra-curricular activities or participation

Amount
$3,000

Main Targets & Requirements
Local and Non-local Students:

  • Distinguished record in community services and/or extracurricular activities or participation; and
  • Being accepted to enrol in HKCT designated programmes
Remarks
  • Applicants are allowed to apply for ONE Entrance Scholarship only
  • Applicants will be considered only if all the criteria and requirements in the ‘Details’ are fulfilled.
  • Applicants are allowed to apply for either ‘Entrance Scholarship’ or ‘HKCT Excellence Award’.

Remarks

The CEF aims to subsidise adults with learning aspirations to pursue continuing education and training.

Applicant may submit an unlimited number of claims for reimbursement of fees for CEF reimbursable courses commenced on or after 1 August 2022. Each claim may include one or more than one CEF reimbursable course. The applicant must submit the application within one year upon successful completion of the course (which should be calculated in respect of each course respectively). Each eligible applicant is entitled to a maximum sum of HK$25,000 subsidy in respect of all CEF reimbursable courses pursued.

The tuition fee reimbursement is subject-based. Students who cannot complete individual subjects satisfactorily are still eligible for reimbursement of the tuition fee for the other subjects which they have satisfactorily completed. A student can receive tuition fee reimbursement for a maximum of eight subjects under the DAE programme.

All eligible students will receive reimbursement of 30% of the tuition fee of each satisfactorily completed subject (i.e. attaining an overall “pass” and achieving an 80% attendance for the subject). Students passing the means test and obtaining an Eligibility Certificate can apply for "FULL" or "HALF" tuition fee reimbursement.

Tuition subsidy

  • Applicants with nil income or with monthly income of $12,500 or below, can apply for course fee waiver subject to attaining a minimum attendance rate of 80%
  • Applicants with monthly income between $12,501 and $20,000, can apply for payment of "Highly Subsidised Fee" subject to attaining a minimum attendance rate of 80%
  • Applicants with monthly income of $20,001 or above are required to pay the "Normal Subsidised Fee"
