HKCT won the championship in the Bun Tower Climbing Team Relay and third place in the Bun Tower Climbing – Ultimate Team Challenge at the annual "Climbing Carnival 2024".
HKCT sent out 6 students from Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons) in Sports Management with Coaching and Training, and Higher Diploma in Fitness, Coaching and Sports Management to participate in the “Bun Tower Climbing Team Relay”. Among the competitors from various tertiary institutions, HKCT ultimately emerged as the champions of the team relay, as well as securing the third place in ultimate team challenge. Angel Wong, five-time “Baoshan Champion” also provided guidance to students, teaching them mountaineering skills that led to their successful achievements.
The "Bao Shan Carnival 2024" to be staged at the soccer pitch of Pak Tai Temple Playground, Cheung Chau from 7 April to 16 May 2024 is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Cheung Chau Bun Festival Committee and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, in association with the Cheung Chau Wai Chiu County Association Limited, the Cheung Chau Rural Committee, the Islands District Office of the Home Affairs Department and the Hong Kong, China Mountaineering and Climbing Union. Sponsored by Otsuka Pharmaceutical (H.K.) Ltd. and Watsons Water, the carnival aims to familiarise the public with the bun scrambling tradition and local customs.
