The Hong Kong Police College recently held a passing-out parade, with 21 probationary inspectors and 157 student police officers graduating. Among them, over 20 student police officers were graduates of the Disciplined Forces training programme at HKCT. Student Lui was awarded the Silver Whistle Award in recognition of his outstanding performance in drill, shooting, physical fitness, and workplace attachment.
Expressing gratitude for being recommended by instructors and superiors to receive the award, Lui said the training and support provided by HKCT was very useful. He found the Discipline Forces programme to be highly practical, as it covered a wide range of police-related knowledge, with the "Interview Preparation" course being the most helpful. Lui thanked the instructors, saying, "We did many mock interviews and learned different ways of thinking and responding to various questions, which greatly boosted my confidence in interviews."
Lui also noted that the College not only focused on academic learning but also offer various activities to broaden students' horizons. For example, within his study year, he joined the "HKCT Flag Raising Team", learning formal Chinese drill and flag raising techniques, participated in exchange programmes, visited a television station, and volunteered at the annual "Wai Yin Association Charity Dinner". These opportunities not only expanded his perspective but also helped him develop interpersonal and communication skills, which were beneficial for his subsequent application to the police force.
