Mr K W Chan
BEng (Hons) Electronic and Electrical Engineering
I am Ah Wai, one of the graduates of the University of Sunderland’s BEng (Hons) Electronic and Electrical Engineering degree programme. I am very pleased to share my learning experience at HKCT. Starting from September 2018, I studied the Higher Diploma in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at HKCT, and then in 2020, I progressed to the BEng (Hons) Electronic and Electrical Engineering programme. I am honoured to have graduated with First Class Honours.
From 2018 until now, four years have passed in the blink of an eye. Although the engineering subjects were relatively intensive, I am glad that the learning progress was smooth and all classmates felt fulfilled. The teachers have rich practical experience and are passionate about teaching. Whenever we had questions in class, we would ask, and the teachers were always willing to help. In particular, Ir Chan taught various subjects from which I benefited a lot, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him. The administrative staff were willing to listen to students’ needs and followed up on our requests promptly. Even during the challenging year of the pandemic, the arrangements for online classes and assessments were very smooth.
The programme allowed me to understand a lot about the operation of electronic engineering, the underlying principles, and mathematical logic. Of course, the most important thing was making friends who work in this field. “Knowledge is important, but in the end, when it comes to work, sometimes knowing people is more practical than just knowing the books.”
Working during the day and studying in my spare time is manageable as long as I maintain a relaxed mindset and a serious attitude towards learning. With the selfless help of classmates, you can get through it smoothly. If you have questions in class, seize the opportunity to ask after class, do online research and discuss with classmates to consolidate your knowledge.
The biggest advantage of the HKCT programme is that it is fast and intensive. As far as I know, it is one of the fastest BEng (Hons) Electronic and Electrical Engineering programmes that can be completed in Hong Kong. Moreover, graduates can obtain recognition from several UK engineering institutions. If you already have many years of practical experience in electrical work, graduates are eligible to apply to become a Registered Engineer.

Institute of Measurement and Control
Certificate of Excellence
Hello everyone, I am a 2022 graduate of the BEng(Hons) Electronic and Electrical Engineering degree programme, you can call me Henry. I am very happy to have graduated successfully, and I am honoured to have received the Certificate of Excellence awarded by the Institute of Measurement and Control. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Institute of Measurement and Control and HKCT for recommending me for this award.
I am very glad to have enrolled in this programme. It gave me the freedom to think independently. For me, the teaching model of the university programme allowed me to think more logically, and it has had a greater impact and benefit on my current job. Most of the lecturers are working professionals from relevant departments outside the school, and they can bring students the latest market information. I think this information and their personal insights are even more valuable than purely theoretical classes. Of course, my ultimate goal was to obtain a degree certificate relevant to my work, and this graduation certificate meets the requirements for applying for the Grade C Electrical Worker qualification from the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department. So, if you are interested, take action—this programme is “fast, affordable, efficient, and professional.”
Here, I would like to thank the HKCT and all staff for their help and guidance all along. I also hope that the University of Sunderland will continue to uphold its educational philosophy, so that students from all over the world can succeed and give back to society.

Certificate of Excellence
It was an awesome journey at HKCT and a great honor to be rated as a “Certificate of Excellence” issued by “Institute of Measurement and Control” in 2022. This is not only the academy’s affirmation of my effort, but also an encouragement for me to continue studying in the future.
Studying the Electronic and Electrical Engineering degree at HKCT made me a more competitive and valuable practitioner in the profession. Joining HKCT and “Institute of Measurement and Control” is one of the paths to professionalism, and it is also suitable for practitioners.
I would like to share this time to tell you that the success or failure of doing things does not lie in the difficulty of things, but in your devotion and persistence to the matter. As the saying goes: No pain, no gain, Success is not accidental; it must go through one's own efforts and dedication.
