HKCT Institute of Higher Education (the Institute) and JunHe Law Firm jointly organised the "Mainland Education Legal Knowledge Sharing Seminar". The seminar featured several partners from JunHe Law Firm, including lawyer Janet HUI, Su YU, Chengzhe LAO and Dennis HU who discussed the issues and risks related to Hong Kong educational institutions investing in Mainland China and shared legal knowledge about Mainland education. Ms HAN Xu, Vice Chairman of Sichuan Changjiang Vocational College, and Dr Mark CUI, Chief Representative of Sichuan Changjiang Vocational College (Hong Kong), also introduced the process and considerations involved in establishing the Rong Kong Youth Education Industry Base. This sharing session is one of the activities of the “Sichuan-Hong Kong Vocational and Applied Education Alliance”.
Lawyer Janet HUI in the seminar explained the impact of the new "Company Law" on high-level personnel such as the CEO, deputy CEO, company secretary of listed companies, and other personnel specified in the company's articles of association. She advised that those who wish to serve as high-level personnel must thoroughly understand the requirements of the new "Company Law," company articles of association, and corporate governance regarding their respective roles and obligations. If any non-compliance or actions detrimental to the company's interests are identified, they should take timely action or speak up according to their responsibilities and keep appropriate evidence or documentation of their performance.
